MNTC Grand Opening

The Moore Norman Technology Center will celebrate the opening of its new South Penn Campus with a ribbon cutting at 3:30 p.m. and a reception from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29.

“We want to be an asset to the south Oklahoma City community, and increase the programs and services we are offering there,” said John Hunter, superintendent of Moore-Norman Technology Center.

The technology center offers classes in health, business, personal development and computer technology, and serves as a conference facility for community businesses and organizations. A stand-alone business incubator also sits on the campus. New and emerging companies that may need assistance during the high-risk, beginning stages of development have the opportunity to set up shop in the incubator after going through an application process.

The South Penn Campus was designed and built with the success of education and business in the Moore and Norman communities in mind. Amenities like free Internet access, the availability of light office tools, and a quality conference hall that can accommodate 350 guests are only a part of center’s offerings to the community.

“People who have not been inside the building talk about how beautiful the building looks from the road, and how it fits in with the neighborhood,” said Hunter. “The people who have taken classes there speak about how functional it is, how helpful the employees have been, and what good instruction is taking place.”

JHBR Architects and Flintco Cos., the design firm and construction management company for the new campus, are sponsoring the grand opening, while the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the ribbon cutting ceremony. MNTC’s South Penn Campus is located on the corner of SW 134th and Pennsylvania Avenue in south Oklahoma City.
